STK South Beach | A Taste of Spring

Last night, my husband and I had the best date night at STK South Beach. STK is one of those restaurants that we go to for special occasions, and I had only been one time before. So when we were offered to go and try out the Chef’s Menu, there was no hesitation! I was beyond excited to test out the Chef’s spring menu and try some of the delicious food this steakhouse has to offer! After all, their tagline is “Not your daddy’s steakhouse.” And boy are they right!

The First Course

We started our meal with the most delicious bread and cocktails (not pictured). I know this is a lot to say about bread but, wow! It was incredible and I am still dreaming about this warm and flavorful bread.

Next, we were served the most amazing tuna tartare and seared sea scallops! The tuna tartar is one of the best appetizers I have ever had. It was fresh, light and so tasty because of the avocado and soy honey emulsion sauce. I could have had that as my meal. My husband loved the seared scallops, and said that they were seared perfectly and tasted delicious! They had a short rib marmalade, sweet corn, Hawaiian hearts of palm and english pea puree.

The Main Course

With our dinner, we ordered the Pinot Griot which was perfectly crisp and paired well with all of our main dishes. For our main course, we had the most delicious and tender filet served with two grilled shrimp. The filet was definitely my favorite! Also, we tried the roasted half organic chicken, which were plated with haricot vert, fennel and chamomile broth. The chicken was my husband’s favorite because it was beyond juicy and extremely flavorful.

The sides may have been the best sides we have ever eaten. The mashed potatoes rivaled my mom’s famous mashed potatoes, which is very hard to do! They were creamy and fluffy and paired perfectly with my filet. And then the mac and cheese; I almost have no words, that is how good they were. They were perfectly cheesy, creamy, and just absolutely delicious! And for a veggie, we had one of my favorite vegetables which was asparagus, which were the great and featured some lemon zest for an extra kick!

Dessert

All I can say about our dessert is, presentation! We started off our dessert with an amazing presentation of strawberry short cake, but it wasn’t an ordinary short cake. It is called The Cloud. And let me just say, it is amazing! The staff lights the cotton candy cloud on fire and it melts down until you can see the beautiful strawberry ice cream and angel food cake.

We also had Warmed Baked Cookie, and it may sound simple, but that may be one of the best cookies and ice cream we have ever had. It was warm, gooey, and perfectly contrasted the cool vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Finally, my desserts would not be complete without a cappuccino! It was the best way to complete such an amazing evening.

STK has many locations both within the US and Internationally. I highly recommend stopping by the closest one to you to celebrate an occasion, birthday or just for a fabulous night out! I cannot wait for my next visit!
