The Envoy Hotel Our Thanksgiving weekend was a bit of a whirlwind. I baked all Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. We woke up and watched the Thanksgiving day parade and dog show. Then we got ready and headed to my aunts house for our family party! We ended the night playing our favorite game, Heads Up!, and then made our way home to pack for the next morning.
Friday morning, Tyronne and I made our way up to Boston! For those of you who do not know, Tyronne is from Boston and we met at Boston College (where we both attended college). A lot of our friends still live up here, so we came for one of Tyronne’s good friend’s wedding! Also, we get to see Tyronne’s side of the family which is always so fun.
All I can say is wow! This hotel did not disappoint. Our room was absolutely stunning and we had the most gorgeous view of downtown Boston. Plus, we stayed in a corner suite, which made our stay that much more amazing. From the decor, to the selection of Fresh products they offered in the room, our stay was simply lovely. Located in the heart of the Seaport District, The Envoy is a modern and innovative hotel in the heart of Boston. If you are ever in the Boston area and looking for a hotel to stay at, I highly recommend The Envoy.
We arrived around 5pm and relaxed for a bit before heading down to dinner at the hotels restaurant, Outlook Kitchen & Bar. Our experience was wonderful! The food was absolutely delicious and the cocktails were just as amazing. We ordered the Wild Mushroom Flatbread to start, which was rich and flavorful. We finished that in about 5 minutes flat! For dinner, I had the Maine Family Farm Chicken with risotto and oh wow! It was spectacular! Risotto has become a real favorite dish of mine, so I was extremely happy with my meal. Tyronne ordered the New York Strip steak which he really enjoyed very much and of course, I had to pick at his.
To end our delicious meal, we ordered the Campfire Torte. It tasted like we were roasting our marshmallows right in front of a camp fire. Spectacular! The manager of the restaurant was such a sweetheart. He guided us through the menu and told us all about their drinks and their handmade craft cocktails. It was such a wonderful evening! Even if you don’t stay at the hotel, I highly recommend Outlook for dinner or just for drinks!
On Saturday, we attended Tyronne’s friend’s wedding. We has such a nice time and I was able to meet some high school friends of his that I had never met before. Also, I mean, who doesn’t love a good wedding! I love getting all dolled up and wearing a beautiful dress for the evening. We had such a nice time. But what was even better was that the reception was only 5 minutes from our hotel, so when the wedding ended, we didn’t have very far to travel.
The second we got back got back to our room, I took a shower in our amazing bathroom, and put on my comfy Navajo booties from MinxNY! They kept my feet warm from the freezing cold Boston winter! What I love most about these booties is that they have a little pocket in the front to keep my cell phone. Yes! A pocket for your cell phone. How cool is that? So I can walk around the hotel room, or our apartment when we are home, and keep my phone right near me at all time! You can buy these booties for only $39.99 here!
The thing I can’t forget to mention is the breakfast in bed I ordered for Tyronne and I. Nothing says vacation like a wonderful breakfast in bed. I ordered the oatmeal with hot tea and Tyronne ordered the eggs with toast, potatoes and bacon. I ended up eating his toast and my oatmeal because they had a delicious jam that I couldn’t resist. My oatmeal had some type of brûlée on top, which added just a hint of sweetness. It was the perfect way to start our day!
Another great thing about The Envoy was that it was a 5 minute walk from Shake Shack! Tyronne had never experienced Shake Shack before, so it was a fun and delicious trip! We attempted to go and eat there twice, but the second time, we hit rush hour lunch time, so we ended up walking to Legal Harborside, which was perfect! Anytime we are in the Northeast, we try to get seafood. Legal Harborside is actually owned by Legal Seafood’s, and the view here…. amazing! We enjoyed our bowls of New England Clam Chowder and I really enjoyed my Linguine with Clams! Yum!
It was so nice that we had a lot of great options within walking distance from the hotel. It got a bit cold towards the end of our trip, so I definitely think we could have used an Uber our last walk back to the hotel. But we toughed it out!
Overall, our trip to Boston was amazing. Our hotel stay was wonderful, the wedding was so much fun and seeing our family and friends was just what we needed. Boston will forever have a special place in my heart and I cannot wait for my next trip back!
